Smriti Mandhana Breaks Virat Kohli’s Record with Blazing Century

September 22, 2025

Indian opener Smriti Mandhana etched her name in cricket history by smashing a sensational 50-ball century against Australia in New Delhi. With this, she broke Virat Kohli’s long-standing record of a 52-ball hundred, becoming the fastest Indian — across men’s and women’s cricket — to reach a century in ODIs.

Mandhana’s explosive innings of 125 off 63 balls, studded with 17 fours and 5 sixes, not only powered India to a strong total but also highlighted her growing stature as one of the game’s finest stroke-makers. Her knock is now the second fastest in women’s ODI history, only behind Meg Lanning’s 45-ball ton in 2012.

For Indian cricket fans, this was more than a milestone — it was a moment that showcased how women’s cricket continues to shatter boundaries and rewrite records.
